Security Officer Training

Security Officer Training provides a clear path to success.

Our approach to security officer training is based on the individual needs of the clients and the officers’ need for meaningful ongoing professional development.

Securitas provides ongoing professional development to keep skills sharp through clear training paths. To maintain security training standards, we keep a record of completed training modules both in our Talent Center as well as in each officer’s file.

The secuurity officer training path includes the following three levels:

Level One: Focuses on basic security officer skills and exceeds many state-mandated minimum standards for beginner security officers.

Level Two: Focuses on career development and includes site-specific training.

Level Three: Offers rigorous, specialized training for those who seek continued development beyond Level Two.

Working Safely in Changing Times

We have implemented several measures to ensure safety in response to COVID-19, including a new training series. This training encompasses global best practices from Securitas operations across dozens of diverse industries and thousands of clients, as well as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) data and guidelines. Key topics include:

  • An Introduction to Pandemics & Social Distancing
  • Screening Tools & Practices
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Proper Sanitizing: Hands, Workspaces & More

Refresher Training

As an industry leader in training, we recognize that a core base of security knowledge and critical skills sets a successful foundation built on basic, on-the-job and advanced training. Further, we understand that certain critical skills require periodic re-certification to help ensure our security guards maintain a high level of proficiency.

Value-Added Training

There are valuable supplemental training opportunities through the Securitas Center for Professional Development. Our Professional Development Series is designed to enhance general business skills, while industry-specific programs are tailored to specific skills. Courses, videos and resource materials addressing terrorism awareness and homeland security are available from Securitas USA and America's front-line agencies.
